April 15th-April 19th

Well it seems like the countdown for the last day of school has started already. Only 36 days left of school until summer break!

Here is a look at our curriculum for next week.

*Language Arts/Reading: Phonics and word decoding will be the main focus of Language and reading this week.  We also will continue to practice identifying main idea in texts.
*Math: This week we will further explore place value and it's relationship to the math problems that we complete on a daily basis.
*Science: Our Fossil unit is finally beginning this week!  I know that the students have been anticipating this for a few weeks already.  We will start the week by discussing the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods and the dinosaurs/animal/plant life during these times.  We will move into the discussion of fossilization by the end of the week.
*Social Skills:  We did not completely finish our career reading/activities last week, so we will continue working on this early in the week.  Hopefully by Thursday, we can begin our career project.  I have attached the rubric for this project below.
