May 27th-May 31st

We had a wonderful fieldtrip at Brookfield Zoo yesterday!  Not only did we get to see the Dinosaurs Alive exhibit (which related back to our Dinosaur/Fossil unit in April) but we were able to see Okapis and many other animals that we have read about in our Read Naturally series!

Here is a look at our curriculum for next week....

*Language Arts/Reading:  Our main focus this week with be on Writers Notebook and Read Naturally stories.  We will work in our phonics packets each day this week and use Lexia to reinforce the skills we are practicing.

*Math: We will spend the week reviewing money!  Mrs. Philbin has created three new money games that we   will be using to review!

*Science/Social Studies:  This week will include a variety of activities.  We will start the week reading and discussing the article "What If Chocolate Grew on Trees?".  This article will serve as an introduction to learning about our Person of the Month, Cesar Chavez.  On Thursday and Friday we will read "Private I. Guana" and learn about idioms as we read.

Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
