November 18th-November 22nd

Here is a picture of the non-fiction book projects that the students worked on these past two weeks!  They did a wonderful job!!

Here is a look at next week topics!

*Math: Students will be finishing up their current math units in order to prepare for the multiplication or time unit, which will begin after Thanksgiving break.
*Reading: This week, we will be reading a non-fiction readers theater play and other text on Alexander Graham Bell.  The introductory background story for Monday is titled, "Bell's Invention" with comprehension questions.  Tuesday will be a vocabulary day to prep for the story.  Each student will become a "master" of their vocab word and then share with the class. Wednesday & Thursday will be reading the play with comprehension activities/questions to go along with it.   We will finish up on Friday by completing a sound experiment that Alexander Graham Bell used to develop his inventions!
*Language Arts: We will be practicing identifying synonyms and antonyms this week.  Each will start with a review and both class and individual practice activities will follow.
*RtI Reading: We will be starting Cause and Effect this week.  Monday will start with a mimio about cause and effect with several examples.  Tuesday-Friday will be an assortment of matching activities (cause with effect) and questions.

*Social Studies (7/8th grade only): We will be finishing up Ancient China this week.  Students will be reading a culminating review article of Ancient China, view a few short videos, and a mimio on Ancient Chinese contributions, daily life, and children's games (-what it would be like to be a child in Ancient China).
