October 28th-November 1st


*Reading: Students will continue to read nonfiction texts this week.  They will be divided into three groups are read one of the following texts: Inventions in the Food Industry, Inventions in the Clothing Industry, and Inventions in the Communication Industry.  Students will complete a graphic organizer, using the information in their books, and present the information to the class on Friday.
*RtI: Students will be practicing the reading strategy of rechecking the text to find an answer.  We will start with guided practice and modeling on Monday and practice this strategy throughout the rest of the week.  Students will be taking a break from this on Thursday, as Ms. Hagensee is coming in to read us a spooky Halloween story!
*Social Studies (7/8th grade only): On Monday, students will be finishing up their Ancient Civilization project from last week and sharing with the class.  The remainder of the week will be the beginning of our Ancient Rome unit.  Students will learn about Roman architecture, geography, and government.
*Language Arts: Starting this week, all spelling practice/work will be completed as homework, outside of school.  We will be spending the week learning about the four types of sentences.
